It reported that Apple spokeswoman Natalie Kerris told the Chicago Tribune that iPods have a failure rate of less than 5 percent, which she said is "fairly low" compared with other consumer electronics. She said she told the reporter that the iPod was designed to last "for years", while the reporter misunderstood as "four years". The spokeswoman still stated that iPods have a failure rate of less than 5 percent.
